Robert Angelo BenvinOctober 2, 1937 - November 21, 2016
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Angelo Benvin on November 21, 2016.
Robert was born October 2, 1937 to John and Ana Benvin in Vrana, Croatia. He was one of 6 brothers and 4 sisters. He resided in Como, Italy for 10 years and upon completing high school and 2 years of college in Varese, Italy, he left for a better life in America.
In 1956, Robert arrived to the United States and spent the next 4 years as an assistant tennis professional to Jan Kozeluh in Charleston, West Virginia and to Doris Hart in Spring Lake, New Jersey.
In 1960, he was drafted to the U.S. Army where he spent 6 months at Fort Dix, New Jersey and 18 months in Goeppingen, West Germany.
In 1963, Robert became a squash professional at the Rockaway Hunting Club in Cedarhurst, New York as well as a tennis professional at the Atlantic Beach Club in Atlantic Beach, New York.
For 3 years he held a full-time position with Wilson Sporting Goods as a tennis and squash sales representative throughout New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
Robert Benvin and Dorina Muzic met on the 4th of July in New York and were married November 6, 1966 in Mali Losinj, Croatia.
Robert was always involved with racquet sports and he and his partner ran Century Sports, Inc. for 25 years.
On the squash court, Robert was a fierce competitor and in 1980 he achieved the ranking of #1 in the U.S and #2 in the world.
Robert was very proud of his children. He passed his family values to his daughter Michelle who has a wonderful family of her own and he devoted himself as a tennis coach to his son Richard who competed as a professional tennis player for many years.
Robert loved the ocean and was an avid fisherman. He would sometimes walk on the beach for miles. He enjoyed reading, interesting conversations and was not afraid to express his opinions, especially where he saw injustice.
He was a wonderful husband and loving and supporting father, putting all others ahead of himself and not wanting anything in return. He was one of the most honest, humblest and giving men one could hope to know.
His proudest title was Nonno Bob to his two beautiful grandchildren and loved them with all his heart. They loved and cherished him deeply.
Robert and Dorina Benvin celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on November 6, 2016.

Think for a moment, the unfortunate people from mexico risking everything including their lives to enter the U.S.
Unfortunately, this entire problem is caused by the Mexican government, which doesn’t exist.
I propose two solutions for the U.S. to consider seriously:
- Offer to buy Mexico to satisfy the corrupt government and make Mexico part of the U.S.
- If they refuse the buyout, invade Mexico and make it part of the U.S.
In either of these proposals, we no longer will need borders and everyone is free to travel wherever they please. Within 6 months everyone will settle in their desired place and we will no longer have illegals.
Our government doesn’t have a concrete immediate solution for the illegals.
In my opinion, once they risk their lives and make it over the border, we have no business to round them up and send them back. Our border control was negligent in allowing them to come here in the first place. We are committed all over the world, but we cannot solve our close neighbor’s problems.

To Anyone That Cares at Comcast,
Every other week I receive a flyer from Comcast with great deals. The problem is that you can’t even provide simple cable service. You have to be the worst service company I have ever dealt with in 60 years. I don’t know why you make people’s lives miserable.
I have been having a problem with your service for a year now. I’v had at least 10 of your technicians check our screen breaking up and we are still on first base.
The latest; 3 weeks ago we had another service call… very impressive. They left a temporary cable above ground, damaged our plants, left without saying a word and our reception is worse than ever.
Is there anyone out there that can help?
P.S. Your office in Delray Beach is in a coma!
Our fine government leaders got us in the current economical mess and they didn’t seem to have much difficulty in getting us in such an embarrassing situation. Therefore it shouldn’t be very difficult to get us out of it. Here is my simple proposal…
If our leaders in Washington have any pride whatsoever they would propose that for 3 years all government employees take a 50% cut on their compensation. That would do it!
In no time the budget will be balanced. Can you imagine our leaders putting all the pressure on the average American? Social security is sacred to many American people – how can they dare touch that? Give me a break.
Monday on Fox news they learned that the staffers of Congress family members are exempt from having to pay back student loans. This will get national attention if other news networks will broadcast it. When you add this to the below, just where will all of it stop?
35 States file lawsuit against the Federal Government
Governors of 35 states have filed suit against the Federal Government for imposing unlawful burdens upon them. It only takes 38 (of the 50) States to convene a Constitutional Convention.
This will take less than thirty seconds to read. If you agree, please pass it on.
This is an idea that we should address.
For too long we have been too complacent about the workings of Congress. Many citizens had no idea that members of Congress could retire with the same pay after only one term, that they specifically exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed (such as being exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment) while ordinary citizens must live under those laws. The latest is to exempt themselves from the Healthcare Reform… in all of its forms. Somehow, that doesn’t seem logical. We do not have an elite that is above the law. I truly don’t care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent or whatever. The self-serving must stop.
If each person that receives this will forward it on to 20 people, in three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message. This is one proposal that really should be passed around.
Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution: “Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States.”
You are one of my 20.
What a day! Caught 9 dolphin fish.
It is a wonderful time of the year when you’re with your loved ones and in sunny FL. We are taking this opportunity to wish you and your family a Healthy and Happy Holiday and New Year.
All the Best, Bob, Dorina, Richard, Mason and Robbie
It is very hard to believe that over the years our brilliant minds in Washington keep making the same mistakes over and over again. One would think that after huge misjudgements were made in Korea and Vietnam that we learned a lesson. Not a chance!
As a strong believer in our democratic system; communism is a vicious threat to our system, but this doesn’t warrant us to sacrifice thousands of lives for the cause. Communism will survive for awhile, but eventually those countries have to come around to our system.
Afghanistan is an issue that has no possible ending for us. If our politicians would read a simple history book on the country, we wouldn’t be in such a position. In my opinion, the conflict is not worth a single American life. let them be and let them resolve their own problems. They’ve done it for thousands of years.
