For Bob, travel was never about getting away. It was about going home. Again and again over the years, he and Dorina took the family back to Italy and to Mali Lošinj, the island town where they were married and where both of their stories began.
Where it all began
Bob was born in Vrana on the island of Cres; Dorina was born in Belej, a village on the same island. The islands of Cres and Lošinj sit side by side in the northern Adriatic, joined by a small bridge at Osor. On November 6, 1966, Bob and Dorina were married in Mali Lošinj, surrounded by the families who had known them since childhood.

The best of times
Summers on Lošinj meant clear water, rocky coves and long family dinners. Mali Lošinj calls itself the island of vitality for its pine forests and clean sea air, and the family photos show exactly why: swimming in the Adriatic, cousins everywhere, and Bob in the middle of it all.

Italy, always
Italy was Bob’s second home. He spent ten years of his youth in Como and finished school in Varese, and he returned many times with Dorina and the children. He loved the food, the language, the long conversations at the table and seeing the places that had shaped him through the eyes of his family.
